WHO WE ARE

Run Black & Green is a movement and collective rooted in Pan-Africanism, Afrofuturism, and creative expression. We use movement as acts of liberation—fueling wellness, building cultural wealth, and advancing economic autonomy in Black communities. Founded by Nateya Taylor, we exist to reimagine what health, freedom, and collective power look like for the Black diaspora.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to elevate the quality of life for Black diasporic people by activating the body, igniting the mind, and strengthening community. Through movement, we cultivate spaces for connection, critical consciousness, creative expression, and collective action—empowering our communities to heal, thrive, and shape transformative change.

OUR VISION

Animated character with curly hair, brown eyes, and a serious expression, wearing a brown jacket over a white shirt, in front of a window with sunlight streaming in.

RBG’s vision is constantly evolving. Our vision invokes the spirit of the fictional character, Huey Freeman, from the adult animated sitcom The Boondocks: “Vision? What do you know about my vision? My vision would turn your world upside down, tear asunder your illusions, and send the sanctuary of your own ignorance crashing down around you. Now ask yourself. Are you really ready to see that vision?”

Huey Freeman

Our vision is to see Black diasporic people and communities live well and live longer. We envision a future where Black people live physically active lifestyles and live in environmentally healthy communities where they feel comfortable and safe. We envision Black diasporic people and communities in solidarity with one another, self-sufficient, and autonomous, with access to all the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, economic, and financial tools and resources they need to address the challenges they face. Our cultural assets are our wealth. We envision strengthening our communities by using our culture as the blueprint and returning to African/indigenous centered practices.

OUR VALUES: What We Believe

Radical Imagination & Vision

We believe in the power of collective imagination and vision to bring into fruition a world where all Black people are free.

Community & Cultural Wealth Building

We believe in building a beloved community, as defined by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., where “everyone is cared for, absent of poverty, hunger, and hate.” We believe in strengthening and building upon the cultural wealth of Black diasporic people and communities to promote connectivity, racial equity, economic prosperity, community ownership, and ecological sustainability.
